Fit running into your busy schedule. We all know the benefits of running and living a healthy lifestyle.  Yet finding time to run consistently is tough, even for the most seasoned runner.  We all have busy schedules, and when you add in a little lack of motivation it can be weeks or even months between workouts.  The good news is that you can find time to run hidden within your schedule.  Follow these steps to squeeze running into the busiest day.

Use Your Lunch Hour

Your lunch hour is a great opportunity to clear your mind, stretch your legs and get out from your desk.  Running during your lunch hour not only helps to break up the monotony of work, it also helps you to be more productive in the afternoon.

Run to Work

While running to work may not be practical for everyone, if you live close enough to your job, try running to work.  You will avoid the frustrations of sitting in traffic and you will reap the benefits of exercise.

Run First Thing in the Morning

For many, running first thing in the morning is a sure way to fit running into their schedule.  Get up and get it done, then get on with your day.  You may have to get out of bed a little bit earlier but you will probably find yourself going to bed earlier to compensate.  As you make running in the morning routine it will become easy.

Run Right After Work

How many times do you leave work with every intention of hitting the road only to find yourself tied up in something else as soon as you’re home?  One easy way to avoid this trap is to go on your run straight from work.  Don’t allow yourself to go home before getting your run in.

While our schedules seem to be more and more jammed full, we continually learn of the advantages of living a healthy lifestyle that includes exercise.  Remember these tips and incorporate running into your routine.  Your efforts will pay off.
